Prelude: Seize the Whole of Life, from Twila
Welcome from Wilma:
Opening Scripture:

Call to Worship: Be Still
Gathering Hymn: What is this place, Hymnal Worship Book #1
Congregational Prayer:
You are invited to offer your prayers to God. For what are you thankful this morning? What would you ask of God for yourself? Who do you know who needs God’s loving presence right now? What are your prayers for our community, our country, and our world?
Feel free to share your prayers with people around you, in the comments below, or on our Zoom call at 11 Sunday morning.
This week, you are invited to pray for First Mennonite Church of Hutchinson, KS.
The Lord’s Prayer: sung by Thomas Heilke
Experiencing the Story: from Jenny
Hymn: Hail to the Lord’s anointed
(words with different music in Hymnal Worship Book #185)
Sermon with Scripture Reading: 2 Samuel 7: 1-17
*You can read the sermon manuscript on Pastor Joanna’s blog.
Prayer Practice for the Week:
Reflect on what God has done in your life. This would be a good week to talk with people who have been an important part of your life; to look through old pictures and/or journals. What memories help you realize God’s presence with you in the past? What hope do these memories offer for the future?
I also encourage you to sign up for a time to walk the church labyrinth next Sunday for All Saints Day.
Offering
You are invited to mail your financial contributions to the church (615 Lincoln St., Lawrence, KS, 66044) or to the home of our treasurer, Roberta Renz (address in the church directory).
