Congregational Prayer:
You are invited to offer your prayers to God. For what are you thankful this morning? What would you ask of God for yourself? Who do you know who needs God’s loving presence right now? What are your prayers for our community, our country, and our world?
Please remember the people in Texas suffering from extreme cold temperatures and all the difficulties that go with it. I invite you to especially hold in prayer the Western District Conference churches that are in Texas:
- Austin Mennonite Church
- Chin Emmanuel Baptist Church (Houston, TX)
- Hope Fellowship (Waco, TX)
- Houston Mennonite Church
- Iglesia Luz del Evangelio (Dallas, TX)
- Iglesia Menonita Casa de Dios (Garland, TX)
- Iglesia Menonita Fuente de Restauracion (Houston, TX)
- Iglesia Menonita Monte Horeb (Dallas, TX)
- Peace Mennonite Church (Dallas, TX)
- San Antonio Mennonite Church
Feel free to share your prayers with people around you, in the comments below, or on our Zoom call at 11 Sunday morning.

*You can read a manuscript version of the sermon here.
Hymn of Response: Be Thou My Vision; Voices Together #549
Reflection/Response: Consider ways you might open up some time and space for paying attention to opportunities for loving God and your neighbors. Suggestions from the sermon: say “no;” practice Sabbath; morning prayer; evening examen.
Offering
You are invited to mail your financial contributions to the church (615 Lincoln St., Lawrence, KS, 66044) or to the home of our treasurer, Roberta Renz (address in the church directory).
Note from Joanna: I spoke with my friend, Marty Troyer, who is pastor at Houston Mennonite. Their church is planning to serve as a distribution center for plumbing supplies that will be provided by Mennonite Disaster Service. He said that they all appreciate our prayers, and that financial contributions to MDS are also appreciated.
See the “How and Where to Give” section of our announcements page for information on giving to other organizations who need funding at this time.
Closing Hymn: Go, My Friends, in Grace; Voices Together #810
