The artist, Roger Gibson, writes: “The wilderness invites, even requires, a journey. And that journey, especially if one is lost in the wilderness, brings both the lassitude of uncertainty and the fear of a required commitment to choose a direction. The hands are positioned to express both of these, the upward facing palm searching for the will to look for a way through and out of the wilderness, and the palm grasping the cross as a sign of commitment to one chosen path. Together, they are faith.”

Congregational Prayer:
You are invited to offer your prayers to God. For what are you thankful this morning? What would you ask of God for yourself? Who do you know who needs God’s loving presence right now? What are your prayers for our community, our country, and our world?
This morning we hold in prayer the people of Boulder Colorado and Boulder Mennonite Church. We especially pray for the family and friends of the ten victims who were killed in the shooting this past week: Eric Talley; Rikki Olds; Denny Stong; Teri Leiker; Kevin Mahoney; Tralona Bartkowiak; Suzanne Fountain; Jody Waters; Lynn Murray; and Neven Stanisic.
